“Fall in Love with Big Data” is the clever tagline for the event. Although there will be some networking opportunities to meet with other big data experts, this is an educational event rather than a purely social event. It is a whole mini-conference jammed into one evening, complete with keynotes, lightning presentations, and panelists.
The speakers come from these companies.
- Bruno Aziza, SiSense
- Shawn Bice, Microsoft
- John DeGoes, Precog
- Moises Nascimento, PayPal
- Michael Hollenbeck, Predixion
- Ken Rudin, Facebook
- Chris Pouliot, Netflix
- Rafi Syed, Foursquare
- Fedor Dzegilenko, SurveyMonkey
- Eric Mason, Wix
Registration is required, but it is relatively inexpensive. It’s only $10 to register early by January 30, 2013, and just $15 otherwise. I would think you can hear similar presentations at one of the various San Francisco Bay Area local Meetups, but probably not all together at the dense pace of having all these speakers in one evening from 6pm-9pm. If you want a sampling of different insights from data analytics experts, then this event might be an efficient use of your time.
Are you interested in going? If so, see the location details and other information on the Big Data Date Night event page on HadoopWizard or go directly to the conference website. The big question is: will you be bringing a date as well?
